I happen to see the tv 9 debate on metro rail on 22 july 08
good show.Mr Ramachandriah had presented his points clearly.
Ap Govt has to do lot of home work to counter metro critics

The amount of time wasted on travel is phenominal so we need much faster transport services.

MMTS is good but without dedicated tracks can it provide efficient, faster service to meet the growing demand
Govt should be transparent and justify the feasibilty and viabilty of the project

I happen to visit Ghatkesar once 4 months back.I did not know Telanagna did not have a stop there. So went to Bhongir and took the train.Yes lot of work is going on but no talk of extending MMTS in budget too

i mentioned this as one of the points in my letter to scr way back in oct 2007

20.Please link up other suburban areas like medchal
and ghatkesar as many people come from this areas to
lingampally line.

and some excerpts from my mail to scr on 8th may 2008

"people are herded as pigs in push pull/kakatiya
when there is so much potential and trafiic why rlys
not runing more services?every inch of bogie was
filled with passengers when i travelled by push pull
from bhongir to jangaon.both my journeys were on a
working day and at odd hours(3.30pm and 11.30am).i
sent a note to SCR on this occasion too."

"hope someone in rlys will take seriously my note and
arrange to send your official and get first hand
experience on plights of comman man
I aslo requested SCR to increase security and check
illegal passengers in MMTS but to no avail
Please penalise the offenders 10-20 times then only
they will realise otherwise what is the difference in
those following rules and those breaking the rules
Since our law is so slack people are making mockery
and there are repeated offenders."

Sir,

I am an employee travelling between Hafeezpet and Nampally. We are facing very much problem in entering train due to huge rush during office hours, especially for 9.20 AM and 10.04 AM trains. I requsest the authorities to add atleast two more comparments during this peak hours to meet the incresing demand of commuters.

Hi, I like to mention few points regarding Timings.

5. Timings:
Point 1) It would be nice if there is another service from Falaknuma to Lingampally between FL5 & FL6. As of now, FL5 is scheduled to reach Hitech City @ 8.51 AM, which was a bit early and FL6 is scheduled to reach Hitech City @ 10.01 AM, which was a bit late for office going people.

It would be fine even if FL5 was started a bit late, so that it reaches Hitech City by 9.15 AM to 9.30 AM, or have an extra service between FL5 & FL6. Even if it is from Sec'bad also, it'll be fine.

Point 2) Already mentioned in a mail which I sent to MMTSTravellers yahoo group, but again mentioning the same, which can be considered if possible.

I think its better if Railway Authorities have a look at the revising of the present timings to suit in such a way they'll match with the long distance running trains. To give an example, LS1 is scheduled to reach Sec'bad station by 18:10. But, there are two long distance trains leaving Sec'bad at 18:00 & 18:05 as Ajanta Express and Narayanadri Express. If this trains timings is revised for 10-15 mins, it'll be very much useful. In the same way, Falaknuma Express leaves Sec'bad @ 16:00, whereas LF11 scheduled to reach Sec'bad @ 16:07.

For Kacheguda Station - There are two main trains leaving Kacheguda in the evening - Venkatadri Express and Bangalore Exp. There are MMTS connected to these two trains. But, chances are there to miss these trains due to delays.

One more important train leaving from Kacheguda is Yaswantpur Express scheduled at 21:15, where as LF16 is scheduled to reach Kacheguda by 21:08. What happens if this MMTS is delayed by couple of minutes ?? This is couple of suggestions from my side. I think they can do more better than this, if they start working on these.

Dear all,

South Central Railway (SCR) has released a 'hand out' format of the MMTS/Sub-urban Time Table. A compact one and it is costing Rs.2. It is available in ticket counters of Secunderabad and all MMTS stations.

Besides, providing the timings it also gives the MMTS/Sub-urban train system map of twin cities and fare structures. ( individual journey tickets as well as Monthly pass rates for First class and Second Class)

bye & cheers,
ravi
