Dear members,
I faced this problem on 15th September, 2007 on reaching Begumpet
from Mumbai CST, by 2701 Mumbai – Hyderabad, Hussain Sagar express.
The train reached Begumpet at 1200 hrs in the noon. I had to go to
Secunderabad, where I reside. So, anticipating, to catch the 1225
hrs, MMTS train to Falaknuma, I got the ticket at MMTS counter in
Begumpet and waited. Of course, I know MMTS trains running, 10 or 15
mts, behind schedule is quite common.
But, on that day, the 1225 hrs, MMTS train towards Falaknuma at
Begumpet reached, at 1315 hrs !!! Meanwhile, adding insult to injury,
there were 3 MMTS trains towards Nampally ( Hyderabad)
When, 2701 Hussain Sagar express itself goes to Nampally, there were
few takers ( those who alighted at Begumpet from Hussain sagar
express) for those 3 trains to Nampally.
Can’t the SCR authorities, be considerate enough, to send the
Falaknuma bound MMTS train, after 2701 Hussain Sagar express, reached
BMT ? This would have been helpful for scores of passengers who
wanted to go to SC, having reached Begumpet by Hussain Sagar express,
from Mumbai.
Many such things can be done by SCR and make MMTS trains, as good
connecting trains for long distant trains, terminating/originating at
Nampally, Secunderabad/Kacheguda, besides Begumpet.
Here is my letter published in ‘The Hindu’, on 17th September, 2007,
Hyderabad edition reg. this problem. My thanks are due to them.

Synchronize MMTS timings
On September 15, I reached Begumpet from Mumbai by Hussainsagar
Express at 1200 hours. Since I had to go to Secunderabad, on seeing
the MMTS timings, I got a ticket for the 1225 hrs MMTS train at
Begumpet towards Secunderabad.
But to my dismay, the said train reached Begumpet only at 1315 hrs.
Meanwhile, there were three MMTS trains towards Hyderabad (Nampally)
at Begumpet within that time. Most of the passengers who had reached
Begumpet by Hussainsagar Express had to wait for more than an hour
for their MMTS train towards Secunderabad.
It would be better if the railway authorities work towards
synchronising the MMTS train timings so that they provide link for
the passengers who alight/board long distance trains at stations like
Begumpet, Secunderabad, Nampally and Kacheguda.
More than other modes of transport, if MMTS trains are operated with
suitable timings, they may be preferred by people as connecting
trains for long distance trains at various railway stations.
