Dear MMTS enthusiasts,
I would like to share with you few of the communication I had with SCR authorities, reg. extension of MMTS train services to Bolarum side. In fact, I had suggested that till the electrification upto Bolarum is over, I had asked for running 1 or 2 Diesel multiple units from Bolarum to Secunderabad upto Lingampalli and Nampally ( hyderabad) during peak hours.

I always had a feeling that the SC-Bolarum section had been sadly
left out in the MMTS project. The recent CAG report suggests that,
the SC-Bolarum section should have been given topmost preference for
successful implementation of MMTS project according to the pre
project survey conducted by L& T ramboll. When ever I meet IRFCA
members in hyderabad/SC i used to lament over this.
I also recently sent my suggestions to SCR authorities. i had said,
let SCR give serious thoughts over extension of MMTs to bolarum.
meanwhile as a succour to the commuters in that section, let the
DHMU’s run from Bolarum, to secunderabad, be given atleast one trip
towards Nampally and lingampalli in the office hours. it would help
waste of time for passengers from Bolarum to catch
nampally/Lingapalli mmts trains at secunderabad.
I am happy that i received a reply. Standard reply, though it may
be. but,something is alwsys better than nothing !!

( LATEST REPLY FROM SCR AUTHORITIES IS AS FOLLOWS)
The issues raised in your letter regarding provision of MMTS service between Manoharabad/Bolarum-Lingampalli/Hyderabad-Bolarum/Manoharabad section or to provide connecting DHMU services especially during the peak hours have been examined and the position is indicated below:
Keeping various streams of traffic in view, and also considering Secunderabad station as a hub for MMTS trains, the timings of MMTS trains presently serving Falaknuma-Kacheguda- Secunderabad – Hydearbad- Lingampalli sections and DHMU service catering to Manoharabad-Medchal- Bolarum- Secunderabad sections were framed.
On electrification of Secunderabad- Bolarum section, it is proposed to extend MMTS train services upto Bolarum.
Until such time, commuters travelling between Bolarum and Lingampalli section by rail, can avail the following connecting services with change over at Secunderabad.
